Where do I find my car’s VIN?
On the windscreen (bottom left corner), on the driver’s door pillar, and in box E of the technical sheet (ITV card) or the registration document. It is always 17 characters and never contains the letters I, O or Q.
Does the owner find out I looked up their car?
No. The lookup is anonymous and nobody is notified.
Where does the data come from?
From the official Spanish vehicle register and from European vehicle-history databases. We are not affiliated with the DGT.
What if there is no data for that vehicle?
If we cannot find enough information, we do not charge you.
Can I look up any Spanish registration?
Yes, any vehicle registered in Spain, whether it is yours or not.
What is the ITV and why does its history matter?
The ITV is Spain’s compulsory vehicle inspection. Its history shows the mileage recorded at each test, the defects found, and whether the vehicle ever failed — the best way to spot a wound-back odometer.
